I’m a typhoon pervert. Probably as bad as DGNYHK. Every morning during summer I check out the Joint Typhoon Warning Center - hoping for a day off. So at the moment, there’s one nearby, probably going to miss us, but it’s breezy and wet outside. T3 is up. Normally I’d be happy to see a bit of Nature’s fury, but tonight, it backfired.
I was supposed to be out for drinks with FEASTAD. Other people were going to be there, but we were going to talk. Over the last few days she has opened up to me and shown me a side of her that I didn’t know she had. A side that made me think it could be game on. Could be. Could be just a best buddy chat.
We were supposed to meet at 9, but at 9 it was chucking it down, so we cancelled. Gutted, but ….. rearranged for tomorrow night. This time on our own. However … tomorrow, I had a noshing competition arranged. I think you can figure out what that was going to be.
Soooo, Tournoi de Nosh or drinks with FEASTAD. Difficult.
Nah, it’s not difficult really. Tim, in The Office Christmas special, got it just right:
The people you work with, are people you were just thrown together with. You don’t know them, it wasn’t your choice. And yet you spend more time with them than you do your friends or your family, but probably all you’ve got in common, is the fact that you walk around on the same bit of carpet for eight hours a day. And so, obviously, when someone comes in, who you, you have a connection with-yeah. And Dawn was a ray of sunshine in my life. It meant a lot. But if I’m really being honest, I never really thought it would have a happy ending.
Dawn being FEASTAD of course.
We’ll see. She wants to know why I think she has all the ticks in the right boxes. Yeah, I used that phrase. Call me Silver-Tongued Shaky.
