Sorry, been busy. And lazy.
Have just found this though, The Hong Kong Blogs Review page.
He doesn’t like to judge (doesn’t mind stealing from Martin Luther King though):
Here is the bottom line: Hong Kong is Sham-Shui-Po boy’s home where he was born and his forebears were buried and lately have been cremated. He judges his guests on this land not by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their individual character, deeds, behavior, and by their words; as he’d like to be judged if he’s at their home.
but he does like to insult:
Most of these bloggers, for lack of better word, can be described as carpetbaggers of one sort or another.
His guests? WTF? Imagine saying that somewhere else!
Here’s my review of his review page:
If you are nice about HK all the time, know nice places to eat local food, know all about the politics of HK or have married a local, then your blog is good.
However, if you have ever said a bad word about HK, or taken the piss, or talked about your car, or like sex, then your blog is “sarcastic and arrogant”, the “bottom of the barrel” and you’re a “social climber” living a lifestyle that you “cannot afford back home”.
I’m not going to attempt to defend myself, instead, I’ll just point out that referring to yourself in the third person constantly is a sign of narcissism:
The terms “narcissism”, “narcissistic” and “narcissist” are often used as pejoratives, denoting vanity, conceit, egotism or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others.
Oh hello Mr. Pot!

I was thinking racist and jingoistic.
Is the guy a virgin?
Don’t know how anyone is really a local in HK where suitcase and airline ticket purchases are probably staple components of GDP
Oh and for gods sake don’t have mates or be so familiar with the blogger as to use in jokes - he doesn’t like that either.
When the accident of where my parents fucked and where I was born define who I am I think it’s a bit sad.*
* Then again I was conceived in North Wales and born in The Fanny Deakin Ward, North Staffs Hosptial, Stoke - on - Trent.
Judging by his hastily formed judgements, sterotypical views and cursory reviews he’s not very bright either.
:::If you are nice about HK all the time, know nice places to eat local food, know all about the politics of HK or have married a local, then your blog is good.:::
Been there, done that, except the “blog is good” part.
::: Sham-Shui-Po boy says, it’s too much of the same thing, this blog is rather trite and lifeless:::
I have a certain suspicion about the folks behind this site from their commentaries and the blogs they review.
Utter wank. I love Hemlock but no sane person calls him “uncommonly unpompous”
What kind of real “Sham Shui Po boy” would use American perjoratives like “carpetbagger” and spend so much time focussing on the ethnicity of the bloggers based upon language usage?
I do believe we have an ex or current HK English-language blogger with an axe to grind and using a nym in an attempt to gain credibility and deflect attention from not being fake Steve Jobs.
..most of the Brits I know are far from pompous - perhaps being one makes me immune but….I somehow don’t think so.
Most Englishers I know are pompous but that’s the way they are.
Isn’t Sham Shui Po better-known for fake goods and cheap hookers?
Ciao!
“Utter wank” - As good as that! Fuck me, i’d better start reading it right now!
Hurry….. it gets better, right at the bottom is this:
“Hong Kong is Sham-Shui-Po boy’s home where he was born and his forebears were
buried and lately have been cremated” WTF?
So if I’m not wrong, he’s digging them up and setting them on fire right? As I said, “no sane man…….”
Lighten up, everybody. The sidebar on SSPo Boy’s page *welcomes* his filipino readers - ergo, he can’t possibly be a local.
apparently being local doesn’t get me anywhere… “her choices of words are surprisingly tacky in her writing if not vulgar; it’s hard to take her seriously.”
i’ll take that as a compliment though.
