bt encryption

Hey, encrypt your Bittorrent traffic ASAP. First it means you avoid any kind of snooping by your ISP, which may include traffic shaping, second, it seems to massively increase your speed.

Info here on how to do it with a few clients. For Azureus, I skipped points 4 and 5, thus allowing no fallbacks, I only connect to other peers that encrypt packets. More info here.

I’ve really seen massive torrent speed increases since switching this on.

    I was wondering about this (was in the news somewhere over the weekend…), thanks for the link.

    Of course, most of the shows I watch are done for the season so I have not been torrenting as much.

    Never got time to try it out. Don’t think I need it now though if all this is encrypted already.
