two things

First, I’m trying out Wordpress 2.0 and K2 on this old, never updated, blog. What do you reckon?

Also, check out this awesome panorama of HK island.

More HK pics here.

the helmet

Last night, the wisdom of the Vietnamese IAWing pith helmet became apparent. Before commencement, as I was getting settled into The Position, a spring, er, sprung out of the bottom of my chair and I almost fell off. Mainly because the noise scared the sharpit out of me. If I had fallen off my chair, I would have been grateful for the helmet.

Anyway, to the point of the email: I need a new chair.

Any top tips?

some things

USB darts in action!

Some more Google vids - the best of apparently.

New plane formally enters service - the F-22 Raptor.

11.13 seconds to solve the Rubik’s Cube.

I was so almost going to buy Apple stock last week. I am gutted. I was also going to buy it last June. I am even more gutted. Why didn’t I get my finger out!!!??? Goddammit Leroy.

Call of Duty 2 on the XBox360 is just utterly awesome. However, the online play is flaky. I’m not sure what’s wrong but the lag is terrible sometimes and servers get full all the time, it’s pretty hard to get in the same lobby as your brother etc. etc. However, there is a patch on the way! Hurrah!

Going snowboarding in 7 weeks. That means I need a 7 week workout to get some leg strength back! We are heading to Niseko.

Obviously, I will need a new gadget for the trip. Well maybe that is a bit over the top.

UPDATE:

Rino 120 - HK$2180 per pc
Rino 520 - HK$3800 per pc

Oooffff. New gadget. Hmmm, they even have them in stock.

mac question

I’ve searched and searched but cannot find the answer. I’m sure it’s simple.

Here’s the situation. I have my G5 hardwired to my router and my Mini connected via the wireless network. Something went tits-up on my router so I restarted it. On restart, the router reversed the IP addresses of the G5 and Mini. So now the Mini’s IP ends in 101 rather than 100. No big deal, however, the alias in Finder->Network still attempts to open the *.100 IP address.

Surely this should refresh? It doesn’t on my G5.

Any ideas?

hsbc linking policy

HSBC has a hyperlink policy!

You must always obtain the prior written approval of HSBC before creating a hyperlink in any form from a third party website to any HSBC website. HSBC may or may not give such approval at its absolute discretion.

Oooops, I just linked to them without written approval. I wonder what will happen? Fuck all, that’s what you idiots.

See this from BoingBoing.

calendar widget

OS X 10.4.4 was released yesterday/today. They released a few new widgets and revamped a few. One that changed was the calendar widget. Mine has a Chinese character on for some reason:

Anyone else got this? Or not?
