Ages ago, I had a night guard made for preventing tooth abrasion due to bruxism. My medical plan means I can claim for this, so I did. Twice they sent a cheque to the wrong address - I moved a year ago and had given them the new address many times! So I demanded a wire transfer to my account. The reply:

I can confirm that we have processed your claim but unfortunately we had paid it by cheque in error, this has now been reversed and a wire transfer has been requested. This should be finalised early next week and the payment with you within 7 - 10 working days.

Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra! Utter incompetents. My reply:

One question - why does it take 7-10 days to transfer the cash? What year is it? 1950?

That will definitely get it moving much faster.

I am gutted. My idea for a megaphone helmet has already been done:

(Mine [the one in my head] didn’t have the iPod on, just the microphone, mainly for ordering drinks at a bar.)

Question:

How much money do you take out of the cashpoint (ATM) per visit?

Me, I take $1400 each time, unless there is a need for more.

I have a friend, let’s call him ‘Gunther’, who takes out $100. Sometimes $200. Usually more than once a day.

This drives me bananas. I’ll meet him for lunch and he’ll be in the queue at the ATM, meaning, not only is he wasting his time, he’s also wasting mine.

I CANNOT for the life of me figure out the logic behind taking out so little if you know you will need more soon.

He reckons it is because he might lose his wallet.

“When was the last time you lost your wallet?”
“Erm ….”
“See.”

My constant moaning and comments such as “Don’t ever tell me you are going to the cashpoint. Ever.” etc., may have had a breakthrough yesterday when he took out $900. But he is moaning about it now:

15:10:47 Fri <Gunther>i took out 900 on weds. you said it would last a week. Our survey said uh ah. Thurs.
15:11:02 Fri <Shaky> you went out!!
15:11:11 Fri <Shaky> cannot blame me!
15:11:16 Fri <Gunther> just for one.
