victory day ceremony

What will you be doing on Sunday? Me? Well I’m going to the Victory Day Ceremony.

A memorial ceremony will take place at the Cenotaph in Chater Road, Central on Sunday 14 August 2005 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Pacific War and the Liberation of Hong Kong from occupation. This event is organised by the Hong Kong Prisoners of War Association, assisted by the RHKR The Volunteers Association, and is to remember all of those who gave their lives in the defence of Hong Kong in 1941, died in the years of brutal captivity which followed or had their lives shortened as a result of that treatment.
