The new G5s were officially announced yesterday. I’ve had my current G5 for about 10 months. It’s fast enough and there is no real reason for me to upgrade, except maybe the dual layer drive, but I could buy one of those. However, I found out the Apple reseller store in the IFC does part exchange. The guy reckoned I could get HK$ 10k for my G5 (I think this is bollox though). That would mean the current top end G5 would be around HK$ 15k. Subract the HK$ 1k I will spend on Tiger, and it’s a nice 14k. Very tempting. Considering you can do it on interest free with your HSBC credit card, it’s practically free! Only messing, but I might get a precise quote for my current G5 just to see.
I like Apple’s expensive products, but I don’t like their attitude.
When the computer-maker, Apple, objected to an unauthorised biography of its founder and chief executive, Steve Jobs, it tried first to pressure the publisher to cancel plans to release it.
The attempt failed and the company has now turned to retaliation: all books by the same imprint are to be withdrawn from Apple shops around the world.
iRon curtain. Ho ho.

Basically, you’re saying they would fail the test.
