the law

A woman Doris knows just got sent to prison for 3 years. Forgery or something. Madness, but what intruiged me was the deal she was given: plead guilty and go to prison for 3 years, contest and the max term if found guilty is 6 years.

Is that allowed? I suppose it’s to stop people who know they are guilty from wasting the court’s time?

So, the pace men Haughton and Moyne are back, and so is Simon Armor and Henry Paul. And of course, Ben Gollings, leading 7s point scorer of all time. I’ve, er, got a song about him. Trying to add verses at the moment.

7s passport

7s fever is infecting everyone at the moment.

Her Britannic Majesty’s
Secretary of State
Requests and requires in the
Name of Her Majesty
All those whom it may concern to allow the bearer
To pass freely within the South Stand without let or hindrance

update

Been a bit busy.

Anyway, quick update.

The Touch is back in town for the 7s. He likes to arrive a week early and ‘warm-up’, so he arrived on Friday evening. Chit-chat and catch-up at my place over a couple and then out to meet the lads. Well, the lads I could rustle up. The Snoop and Gunther gayed out for no reason and The Village had just got back from holiday and was ‘a bit tired’. It actually turned into a blinder. Caspar turned up, as did Hilton the Kiwi, Gudmond and his 67yr old dad, The Counter and his new Polish internet bird and Barnaby and his bird. Not a bad turnout. We ended up in The Cavern. Eventually anyway. Hilton was trying to get in and they wanted $100 from everyone. The girl on the door saw me, winked and said wait, you’re ok, then asked me how many … ten … ok, in you go:

Hilton: “Hold on, she wanted $100.”
Me: “Yep.”
Hilton: “So one minute she wants $100, next, you arrive and we all get in for free?”
Me: “Yep”
Hilton: “That saved us a grand”
Me: “That’s why I’m The Captain.”

What a knob. I just know the girl on the door from a year or so ago, there’s a story there. Precis: I was a gent when I could have taken advantage, and she’s loved me ever since.

Must say I’m impressed with the band in there. They do Bohemian Rhapsody….. and do it well. FEASTAD turned up …… with her boyfriend. Egg. Bit of comedy dancing and an oft between The Counter, his Polish bird and The Touch, followed by a bit of Acre action. Don’t really recall much, but Caspar was asking about my ‘fit bird’ the next day. Erm, right.

Saturday — watched the rugby. At last a win. Expected though.

Sunday — popped for a few in The Acre, mid-afternoon, with Gunther and The Snoop, at the OCH. Dennis Nedry was there again, joined by Gandhi. There was a girl there with enormous carpets. Brilliant. We named her Alma Chua. Look it up if you’re interested! Went home at 4ish, woke The Touch up, who promptly went out for ‘a couple’. He got back at 4pm on Monday:

Him: “I only went out for a couple! I didn’t expect to be sat in a tiny apartment, with some Filipinas, Aussies, Americans and South Africans listening to Japanese opera, watching cartoons and smoking dope”
Me: “Just like England.”

not the best idea

Sending 7000 2MB emails to 100 poeple.

So…….I’ve made the mail servers at my company grind to a halt.

What sort of gay servers have we got!? Can’t handle a terabyte or two?!

razr

Fact: The Motorola V3 RAZR is the shittest phone I have ever had. It’s going back to the shop today.

can’t we all just get on?

“The world is like a ride at an amusement park. It goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly coloured and it’s very loud and it’s fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, “hey - don’t worry, don’t be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride…” And we… kill those people. Ha ha “Shut him up.” “We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up. Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and my family. This just has to be real.” It’s just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. Jesus murdered; Martin Luther King mudered; Malcolm X murdered; Gandhi murdered; John Lennon murdered; Reagan…. wounded. But it doesn’t matter because: It’s just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It’s only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love.

The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here’s what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defences each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace. Thank you very much, you’ve been great.” — Bill Hicks.
