Right. At last it’s sorted. Two weeks in Samui. That’s Samui. Not Sam Hui.
Ages ago, I said I’d meet my brother in Samui during the first two weeks in February this year. However, I wasn’t sure of the exact dates I could get off work so nothing was booked. It’s Chinese New Year time, so the flights were busy and it took me a week or two to get on the flights I wanted, but I had to fly biz class, no chance in economy. Then I got lazy and didn’t book anything. Then there was the tsunami disaster. Then everyone decided to go to Samui. Then there were no rooms. Then there was egg.
So with four days to go, I’ve finally got it sorted. Not exactly the place I wanted to stay, but not too bad.
So I’ve got a couple of weeks of relaxing and catching up with my little brother. Lovely.
Was the place you wanted to stay charging £603 for a villa per day or per week?

Yes. My bro was on Pha Ngan. He was leaving today. I mailed him a few times today but got nothing back. My ex-gf, who is still close, mailed me from BKK to see if I’d heard from him. I wasn’t worried, but then I figured he must have heard about it, so would email to say he was fine. I got worried. Ex-gf has a mate who works for a TV news show in BKK. She was feeding Doris the latest info and her on to me. No sign of my brother’s name. I just got a call to tell me he’s fine. He went to Koh Tao, not back to Samui.
Wow. Scary; close to home again. Me and the HK crew (a dubious lot) are still deciding on a CNY holiday (no rush, obviously). If we decide on Samui (Phuket and Manila are front-runners) will let you know.
