Can’t believe I haven’t read them before. Had to go out and buy some. The MLCCC has stripped bookstores in HK of them!

Ah, old Flashy! Good choice. The original roaring, rogering, rollicking cad!

Loads of good historical detail amongst the bonking and cowardice, particularly in the ones set during the Indian Mutiny, and the Boxer Rebellion.
Great stuff!

i have 5 or 6 Flashy novels you are welcome to borrow matey. excellent stuff. the crimean war one is outstanding - the passage describing flashy’s involvement in the charge of the light brigade qualifies as one of the great installments of english literature. In desperately poor taste, unquestionably stuffed with factual irregularities but eye wateringly funny all the same. enjoy.
