On TV right now, Pearl channel: Who can jump further, man or dog? The dog won. 27.5 feet (8.382m) in this challenge. Still short of the official WR.
Now the Chimp Challenge — a champion Samoan tree climber vs. a chimp.
TV doesn’t get any better than this. Fact.
UPDATE: The Samoan won, but the chimp didn’t have any climbing equipment (er, a bit of material around the feet). Up next, my God, dwarf racing. Or are they midgets? Anyway, a bunch of “little people”, as the presenter put it, in a relay race against a camel. The little people team has a father and son combo. Got to go — “the revenge of the little people is about to begin” — last time they lost out, only just, to an elephant pulling a DC-10.

Sounds familiar. The US Fox network aired a program called Man vs. Beast with similar competitions. A sprinter beat a giraffe but lost to a zebra, a sumo wrestler lost a tug-of-war badly to a orangutan, hot dog eating champ Takeru Kobayashi got seriously out-gluttoned by a bear, and a Navy SEAL easily got through an obstacle course faster than a chimp.
