OK, that should be in the total and utter geekery category. [via, er, ForeverGeek]

more peel

A huge compilation of obits and profiles, and a library of music he played for download:

Here are some free and legal MP3 downloads of songs that John Peel has featured on his Radio 1 show recently. All these tracks have been made made available by the bands or record labels themselves, they don’t involve Kazaa or anonymous postings to alt.binaries.sounds or anything like that. The idea is that if you like the track, you’ll buy some of their records, which seems pretty sound to me.

one finger salute

Says it all really.

google help

Just about everyone uses Google, but do they really know how to use it? Checkout the Google Cheat Sheet.

I didn’t know the tilde operator:

~auto loan — loan info for both the word auto and its synonyms: truck, car, etc.

sitescore

Check out how good your site is with SiteScore.

“SiteScore is a free tool which rates how well designed, popular and accessible your website is”

I get a shit score, 2.0/10, mainly because the site doesn’t validate, meaning it is illegal in the UK! It doesn’t seem to like lots of links, and doesn’t pick up the search feature, and I definitely don’t use Flash. So it’s not totally accurate, but it gives you an idea.

Other socres:

Simon World: 2.2
Hemlock: 6.2
Gweilo Diaries: 2.1
Discombobulated: 2.2
BWG: 8.7
Flying Chair: 8.0
Eshin: 8.2

That’ll do, it takes ages to get the score. So the take-home message: roll your own.

language

Doris was having a struggle remembering the word for “toes”. In the end, she just made it up.

“Feet fingers”

Brilliant.

no ie?

Heh, first time I’ve seen this, a webpage that is not designed to handle Internet Explorer.
