geekend

Nah, quiet weekend after the semi-large Friday.

Saturday was spent downloading and watching Spiderman 2 and then watching the footy. Dismal weekend for the weather, and dismal weekend for my fantasy footy team.

Sunday, out for some rip-off Thai food. Accidentally bought that new phone but luckily managed to talk myself out of a new screen at the last moment. The look amazing, but I realised I hadn’t read any deep geek reviews of them.

The phone is great. Slick new OS that’s much faster than the T630. It can take video and sound, which will be useful in my new hobby as an interviewer and can play MP3 files. I’ll now be able to trigger a Hey Ya Sambuca™ whenever I like!

Some annoying things about the phone though:

  • Can’t use the joystick to wake it up from standby
  • Can’t stand it up on its side, which I like to do
  • Can’t switch off the annoying shutter sound on the camera
  • Minigolf is gone! (can just d/l the old one, if you can find it)
  • The order in which you press the buttons to lock the keyboard is reversed

Anyway, I haven’t had, er, so much, er, fun with a phone. Again, it sync’d up perfectly with my Mac.

We popped into HMV for a few DVDs. Doris chose Eve. It has NO dialogue and just looks like a long advert or something. That lasted about 10 mins. Crash lasted about 20 mins. It’s shit. Then The Siege, which I quite liked, for a bit anyway, then I got bored. Doris then watched Windtalkers whilst I fannied about. I chose that one in HMV, only to realise I already had it when I got home. Tit.
