A couple of convos re The Long Lunch
“So, are you suited up?”
“Yes, we are meeting heroes today.”
“Ask them when we are going to next win a rugby match.”
“Yes – providing you are close to an exit and believe you can out run the recipient of the question.”
“Better ask Leonard in that case … and make sure you’re out of arms reach!”
I was suited up, but found it difficult to get a taxi this morning. Standing around for 30 mins in a suit enabled me to perfect my Total-Body-Sweating technique, but meant I had to go home to change.

UPDATE: Confirmed.
I have a chance of a ticket to this:
Date of Event: Wednesday, 30 June 2004
Venue: Hong Kong Football Club
Time of Event: 12.15 pm to 4.00 pm
Format of the Event
1st half: starting with a 30 minute drinks on arrival / an introductory talk including a warm-up video of rugby world cup highlights / lunch 1-2 hours / player introductions and question time whereby players share their memories and relay accounts of private events and emotions before, during and after the Rugby World Cup.
2nd half: Look back on the players’ England careers recounting stories and banter from their amateur days and other England and Lions tours / raffle draw.
The compere will be former Lions and England hero Martin Bayfield.
Background to the Event
This lunch is part of a Far East Tour. The tour aims to raise funds for the Lawrence Dallaglio Benefit Year which supports 4 main charities — Cancer Research, Anthony Nolan Trust, PRA Rugby Players Benevolent Fund and the Richard Langhorn Trust. The committee has set a target of raising £1 million for these and other charities during his Benefit Year. A donation from the Tour will also be made to the Bali Bomb Fund.
Gutted to have missed this:
Hong Kong Disneyland: IT Behind the Magic Kingdom
Noble Coker, Director IT, Hong Kong Disneyland, Coker provided at the Chamber’s June 23 roundtable luncheon an overview of how the Hong Kong Disneyland project is progressing. He also spoke on how IT fits into its development and the role that IT will play in the future operations of Hong Kong’s newest theme park.
Noble Coker!
Here are a couple of examples of SMS Jedi mind tricks that back-fired a bit.
1. Me
Getting filthy SMS messages for a couple of weeks, from a girl you’ve never met, then asking her age: 40. Reeeeeto!
2. A mate
Initial phone number collection at The Roast on a Sunday in Wan Chai, slightly inebriated. Subsequent meeting for recruitment interview on another Sunday at mate’s apartment. Sober. Turned out she was not the best. “Kodak moments though mate.”
“Well that’s backfired”
After Thursday (football, anguish, late night), the weekend was quiet. I stayed in, geeked and got pissed off. Oh, we did all pop out for lunch at Dan Ryans followed by Troy at the movies. So, nail another man’s wife, be shit at fighting and run away and you get to survive. Pitt is really letting himself go at the age of 40. Onion.
Annoyed. Why?
1. CSS and blockquote bollox.
2. MT 3.0D templates.
3. Spam on MT 3.0D. I didn’t realise how much MTBlacklist was helping me out.
4. PC can ping Mac, Mac cannot ping PC.
However, Wordpress is great. If I could sort out my CSS issues, or be arsed to learn CSS, I’d switch. I do like popup images though and WP doesn’t do that automatically. Maybe I shouldn’t like them.
I’m also loving the Mac. It doesn’t crash when Azureus isn’t running, so I must figure that one out. Still getting used to the command key, but the home/end keys not working is a pain in the ass. What’s going on there?!
I took the Digial IQ Test, via, er, I can’t remember.
