Wonder if that wiring had anything to do with it? The wiring in Thailand has always amazed me. How does anyone fix anything!?

well that’s backfired

Told my boss I couldn’t go to Tokyo on that Sunday, had to be Monday. He said OK, but stay for two weeks. Bugger.

Still a weekend in Tokyo. What to do?…. What to do?

Side note, check out the bass line to Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. Apparently there is a club remix …. Kazaa! Come here!

work related

Bit of a rant.

I’m sick of travelling on business on my time. Know what I mean? e.g. return from NY to HK on a Friday night and you arrive in HK on Sunday. Travel to TK on a Sunday, you set off at about 2pm and arrive after midnight. My managers always travel on work time. I have to go to TK next week, so suggested the Monday am flight only to be told I have to be there Sunday night ready for Monday am meetings. Thanks. I actually have family in town that Sunday, so he can fook right off.

Next, the gibbon who resigned from my team is being replaced by a gweilo from London. Good, right? No:

Me: “Know what’s-’is-name?”
Mate: “Yeah.”
Me: “What’s he like?”
Mate: “Bit of an arse.”

Great.

email of the day

Not totally sure what he meant, but I just got this email from a colleague in India:

“Hope you would be great at your end.”

Reeeto.

new tunes

Well, new to me.

Eamon - Fuck It (I Don’t Want You Back)
Keane - Everybody’s Changing
Franz Ferdinand - Matinee
The Streets - Fit But You Know It
The Coral - Pass It On
Jamelia - Superstar

The Streets is hilarious:

See I reckon you about an eight or a nine
Maybe even nine and a half in 4 beers time
That blue Top Shop top you’ve got on, is nice
Bit too much fake tan though but, yeah you score high
But there’s just one little thing that’s just really really really annoying me about you ,ya see
Yeah yeah like I said, you are really fit
But my gosh! Don’t you just know it?

Definitely check out Keane. Magnificent.

the weekend

St. George’s Day found me in Bar George, where they had made absolutely no effort to celebrate their patron saint. Disgraceful.

A few drinks there, followed by a bit of a dodgy tour in Wan Chi:

The Valley - full of kids, but all the Dorae were fit! How come all the expat kids are fit?!
Dream’s Caf√© - shit. Nice legs on the singer, but where are her carpets?
Makati - a few fit Dorae, was OK. Mate picked up and loved telling me about it. The Snoop came over a little queer and headed home after a bit of hat dancing.
Venue - quick one with mate and his Doris, quite quiet.
DTD - quick one again.
Coyote - to meet Married Doris 1. Quick Jamaican margarita.
Some girly bar - MD1 wanted to go. Quick drink. I paid $100 so she could get up and dance on stage. Lovely.
Some karaoke bar in CWB - MD1 fancied a sing. She is the worst singer I have ever heard. I belted out a bit of Delilah and American Pie. The staples.

Into a cab. We tried out oral teamwork. Home but not home. Decided the back of my apartment block would make a good place to complete our buccal cavity project. Successful delivery. On time. To spec. Under budget.

MD1 stayed round all day on Saturday - advanced teamwork. I missed the junk boat I was supposed to be on at 10am. I hate it when people do that.

Saturday evening - quite quiet. Met up with Doris and some mates in LKF, a few drinks then DTD, pork/chicken adobo and home.

Sunday - Doris made me go shopping. For things like toilet roll and stuff. Ridiculous. She cooked all day whilst I fannied around. Music, books, TV. Great music. Later.

Footy - top goal from Mr. Shearer. Hull City are making it hard for themselves.

Stayed up until almost 4am reading a bloody book. I was a leeeeeetle bit late for work.

Why does chicken or pork adobo give me seriously bad flatulence?
