bittorrent

Never managed to use BitTorrent before, so many clients, so few good webpages to get links, or at least I thought. Tried it out again last night, found some pages, used Shareaza as the client, and fuck a duck, I had the latest episode of 24 in 45 mins. Normally takes a few days with Overnet.

Try it.

what on earth is this post about?

i only understand 1 sentence - the one about 24 - the rest is complete gibberish.

Er, file sharing. Peer-to-peer networks etc. I use them to download movies, episodes of TV shows I like and various forms of filth. It is all a bit confusing, Kazaa, eDonkey, eMule, Shareazza, Overnet, these are clients (the front end) that connext to different networks, the networks are things like FastTrack, eDonkey, Gnutella (1 and 2). Overnet and BitTorrent have no centralised server (well BitTorrent has a tracker). Anyway, everything I have ever used is pretty slow, 10-100 KB/s (took me 4 months to get every Seinfled), BitTorent gave me 1-2 MB/s.

What a frickin geek. OK. Pub.
