crypto

Jeez, I bought it a while ago, but just started reading it. Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson.

Can’t bloody put the thing down, well, except to write this dull post.

Not related to this post, found this on ebay. Don’t think you need it?

From what I’ve read here I don’t think it’s *attracting* them that causes Shaky so many problems…

Maybe the book needs a sequel

That book should be called: “how to open a can of worms”

Anyway, back to Cryptonomicon: it’s an excellent book about geeks. There are some fantastic comments about the Philipines in there.

The next one “Quicksilver” is also good, although it’s set a few hundred years before Cryptonomicon. See: http://www.nealstephenson.com/, which has unfortunately been afflicted with the ‘moronic web-design’ virus.

Yes, it’s a great book (Cryptonomicon - not the other one). I went out and bought it after seeing Shaky’s recommendation and haven’t bought a newspaper on my way to work since.
