Working in the industry, and seeing the shocking bonuses some traders receive, this was slightly disappointing to read.

Being a trader myself and knowning many others, I can honestly say that this article merely confirms what is blindingly obvious. The trick to trading is convincing everyone else what a good job you’re doing. This is especially important for lesser beings like salespeople and management.
